We donate a part of our profits

We want to make the world a better place and feel obliged to give something back. That's why we donate €1 per paid order. We donate 40% to Wetlands International, 25% to the Against Malaria Foundation, 25% to Deworm the World and 10% to ProVeg. We have talked to several organizations and experts in the field of effective altruism for this and have developed this strategy from the conversations and information to donate effectively. 

Wetlands International (https://www.wetlands.org/) protects wetlands worldwide through a mixture of its own conservation and reforestation projects, knowledge transfer and political influence. Our donations go directly to a specific project in Panama to restore a mangrove area. Wetlands bind a lot of CO2, so protecting and reforesting them is a very effective way of climate protection.

The Against Malaria Foundation (https://www.againstmalaria.com/) uses the donations to distribute mosquito nets that protect against malaria and other mosquito-borne diseases. One mosquito net is purchased for every $2 donated and distributed in affected regions. Every year, more than half a million people die from malaria and others are affected for life. 

Deworm the World (https://www.evidenceaction.org/programs/deworm-the-world) distributes tablets against worm diseases, which cause anemia, growth disorders and triggers chronic immune reactions. Every year, more than 100,000 children die from worms worldwide, even though treatment is very cheap at between $0.35 and $0.66. The distribution of these worm cures is therefore a very efficient way of supporting people living in extreme poverty.

ProVeg (https://proveg.com/de/) is an organization that promotes a plant-based lifestyle and has set itself the goal of helping to reduce the global consumption of animal products by 50% by 2040. They aim to achieve this through the promotion of plant-based and cultured foods, education and political influence. The yellow "Vegan" and "Vegetarian" labels, for example, are also from ProVeg.

By September 2023, we have planted 6 trees per order and thus bind 1.2 tons of CO2 over the next 10 years, which are known to be the decisive years in the fight against man-made climate change. Since Eden Reforestation Projects increased its cost per tree from 15 cents to 75 cents in September 2023, we have opted for the donation strategy mentioned above. 

We have also donated €1 per order to these reforestation projects that plant trees in many, often particularly poor regions of the world and create jobs through this project, which helps to reduce extreme poverty in these regions. We have donated to the organization Eden Reforestation Projects (https://www.edenprojects.org/), which plants trees in many countries around the world and provides local people with work. 

We have also already donated to the organizations Bildung für Balanka e.V. (https://www.balanka.org/) and Gut Aiderbichl (https://www.gut-aiderbichl.com/). Bildung für Balanka e.V. enables school sponsorships and also plants trees, while Gut Aiderbichl is a sanctuary for rescued animals.

Our total donations (including a special donation of €10,000 and an advance donation for the coming months) amounted to €94,005 as at 08.12.2023.
